Connect Vrbo and Booking.com directly (real-time)

Booking.com and Vrbo join the same Pro connection with a property ID instead of a login; bookings arrive within a minute with the guest’s details.

Calendar → Connect Airbnb (real-time) → the property’s connection page

Once a property has a real-time connection (the page you reach from Calendar → Connect Airbnb (real-time)), two more cards sit below Airbnb: Vrbo and Booking.com. Neither uses a login. You name Channex, Rentalhand’s channel-manager partner, as the connectivity provider inside the platform’s own extranet, then type the property ID on the card and press Connect. Rentalhand checks the ID with the platform straight away and says in plain words if it was refused.

After Connect, pick which room and rate on the platform is this property (a vacation rental usually has one of each, and then it is picked for you). Channex then reports whether the channel is ready, and Activate turns it on under the same rules as Airbnb: the property needs a nightly rate, and activation makes Rentalhand the source of the calendar, nightly rate and stay rules for that room and rate.

Vrbo is part of Expedia Group, so its connection runs through Expedia Partner Central with the property’s Expedia ID. A Vrbo account that only has the owner dashboard, without Partner Central, cannot connect this way yet: ask Vrbo support for Partner Central access, or keep the iCal link under Connect calendar.

  1. Booking.com: sign in at admin.booking.com (the owner should do this; Booking.com texts a code). Note the property ID at the top of the page next to the property name. Open Account → Connectivity provider, press Search, type the whole word Channex, choose Channex.io, press Next, accept the terms.
  2. Vrbo / Expedia: sign in to Expedia Partner Central. Note the Expedia property ID next to the property name. Open Rooms and Rates → Connectivity settings, press Edit and choose Channex for both connectivity and bookings.
  3. Back in Rentalhand, open the property’s connection page, type the ID on the Vrbo or Booking.com card and press Connect. If the platform refuses the ID, check it and give the connectivity request a few minutes to go through, then try again.
  4. Pick the room and rate, check the nightly rate and stay rules under Properties → Edit and Calendar → Pricing & stay rules, then press Activate.
  • One room and one rate per property on each platform: Rentalhand sends one nightly rate and one calendar for the number of guests the property sleeps. Extra rates on the platform (non-refundable, special offers) stay unmapped and are managed on the platform.
  • Booking.com answers “forbidden” until it has processed the connectivity-provider request, usually within a few minutes.
  • Remove on a card takes that one channel off Channex and leaves Airbnb, the property and imported bookings alone. Disconnect on the Calendar page removes the whole property from Channex.
  • Guest contact details come with Booking.com and Expedia bookings; Vrbo bookings through Expedia carry what Vrbo shares with its partners.
  • Imported stays are read-only here: change dates or cancel on the platform.
