Tip 1 · For hosts

Fill the gaps between bookings

Before you lower your nightly price, look at the gaps.

When bookings slow down, the first instinct is to cut the nightly price across the board. Look at next month first: most hosts have one or two short gaps a week, a Tuesday and Wednesday nobody can book because the minimum stay is three nights.

Those nights are worth more than nothing. A lower minimum stay just for the gap, and a slightly lower price, fills many of them with the guests who were going to book anyway: couples on a weekday, people in town for a thing.

The trick is doing it without staring at the calendar every day, and without the cleaner turning up to a surprise one-nighter.

In Rentalhand

  1. Open Calendar: gaps between stays are visible at a glance, with the nights counted.
  2. Under Pricing rules, set a shorter minimum stay and a price for gap nights; the change goes to Airbnb, Vrbo and Booking.com through the direct connection on Pro, or to your own booking site on any plan.
  3. When a gap night books, the turnover is created and your cleaner gets it on their link like any other stay.
