Cleaning and turnover modes

Who cleans after each checkout, how they are told, and what happens when they do not answer.

Short-term stays → Cleaning

Every checkout creates a turnover task with a window from checkout to the next check-in (or the property’s clean-by rule when nobody arrives the same day). Each property picks a turnover mode once; new checkouts, including ones that arrive by calendar sync, follow it automatically.

Assign by hand shows suggestions only, and Assign suggested applies them in bulk. My cleaner assigns the property’s default cleaner to every new turnover and texts or emails them their private link. Rentalhand cleans opens a cleaning request for every turnover; with an accepted standing rate the job is pre-approved at that rate.

When a cleaner stays silent or declines, Rentalhand reminds them, then rolls the turnover to your backup cleaner, or to a Rentalhand clean when you allowed it, and otherwise alerts you. Alert texts go to the number under Alert texts to.

  1. Add your cleaners under Your cleaners. Each gets a private link; Rotate link invalidates the old one.
  2. On each property’s mode card choose Assign by hand, My cleaner or Rentalhand cleans, and set the backup cleaner, the Confirm by deadline and the clean-by rule.
  3. Watch the turnover list: suggested windows and cleaners, Assign, Request Rentalhand clean, Notify now, and the escalation state (reminder sent, rolled to backup, needs you).
  4. A cleaner may propose a different time from their link. A time that still fits your rules moves at once; a later one waits for Accept time or Decline here.
  • Core is Assign by hand: the turnover is created for you and you pick the cleaner. Automatic assignment, reminders, the backup cleaner and escalation are Pro.
  • Same-day turnovers are marked in red; their window runs from checkout to check-in.
  • Inspection on a turnover row opens the before and after photos, the checklist as the cleaner left it, notes and any reports.
  • A completed turnover with a cost posts that cost to Financials by itself. Clearing the cost removes the line.
  • Rentalhand cleans and the Rentalhand fallback only switch on once a standing rate is accepted. Choosing them without one requests a rate.
