Direct booking site
Your own booking page: guests pick dates, pay by card to your bank, and land on the calendar as direct stays. Pro.
Short-term stays → Direct site
Pro hosts get a public booking site at rentalhand.com/s/your-address, in their own colours, fonts and logo, with the front-page sections they choose and a page per listed place: photos, the write-up, amenities, house rules, a live price from the property’s nightly rate and stay rules, and a card checkout. A paid booking appears on the Calendar as a direct stay with a turnover, the guest gets a confirmation and their check-in page, and any connected Airbnb listing is blocked for those nights.
Guests pay by card into your own Stripe account: set up payouts once (the same account receives online rent). Stripe takes its card processing fee from each payment, Rentalhand keeps 1% of the stay, and Stripe pays the rest out to your bank. Refunds and card disputes are yours, as with any card payment you take. Taxes you enter are added as a line and paid out to you to remit.
- On the Design tab, set the site name and headline, upload a logo (optional) and a wide cover photo, choose how the top of the page is laid out (full photo, photo beside the text, photo grid, or text only), pick a background palette, any button colour, one of four font pairs and the corner style, and add an announcement line if you like. Save.
- On the Homepage tab, turn sections on or off (why book with you, photo gallery, reviews, meet your host with trust badges such as Superhost, things to do nearby, location map, questions, a contact form that emails you, a closing banner), move them up or down and rename their headings. Edit the "why book with you" cards, write your About text with a photo, and add your own questions and answers; the standard answers from your booking rules can show below them.
- On the Places tab, switch a property on, press Edit, upload its photos (several at once; the first is the cover, the arrows change the order), then fill in the title, a short summary, sleeps, bedrooms, bathrooms, beds, the cleaning fee, the amenities (tick boxes, or type your own), and the write-up: About this place, The space, Guest access, The neighbourhood, Getting around, and house rules for that place if they differ. Save place. The nightly rate and minimum stay come from the Calendar pricing and stay rules.
- On the Settings tab, choose the web address, the booking rules (cancellation policy, instant or ask-first, deposit, taxes), your contact details and the title and description Google and link previews show. On the Payouts tab, press Set up payouts and finish Stripe’s form (skip it if online rent is already set up).
- On the Reviews tab, press Add a review and paste the reviews your places already have on Airbnb or Vrbo. Then switch the site to Published in the bar at the bottom, save, and share the link with past guests and on your social pages.
- Your own domain (Settings tab, Pro): show the site at an address you own, like book.yourname.com. Buy the domain at any registrar (or use one you have), type it in and press Connect, then add the one DNS record the card shows at your registrar. The site goes live with a secure https address once the record is found, usually within minutes. A subdomain such as book. is easiest and leaves your main website alone. The rentalhand.com address keeps working.
- Layouts (Design tab): Standard, Property board (a listing-style page with a photo board and tabbed details), Classic (a warm split headline with labelled sections), Editorial (a full photo with a large serif headline, a booking bar and numbered sections) or Simple stay (one rounded card with a date bar and details that open when tapped). Picking one also applies the colours, fonts and corners it was designed with; change any of them afterwards. Each card has a Preview link to the sample site. With two or more places listed, the standard layout is used.
- Wording you can change: the headline, the line under it and the main button text (Design tab), every section heading and the line under it (Homepage tab), and the currency your site shows and charges in (Settings tab). Each place’s base price, minimum nights, check-in and checkout times can be changed under Places; they are the property’s own settings, so the change also reaches Airbnb.
- Chat assistant (Homepage tab, off until you turn it on): an "Ask a question" button that answers guests instantly from what you have written on these tabs and under Places, checks dates against your calendar, and sends guests to your contact form when it does not know. It never invents prices, discounts or availability, never gives the street address, and stores no conversations. It is included with Pro, with a limit of 300 answers per site per day.
- With one place listed (most hosts), the front page is that place: its story, amenities and reviews beside the booking card, with no list of places and no search. With two or more, the front page has a date search and a card per place.
- Preview the draft: while the site is unpublished, the Preview button opens it for you alone (signed in); guests cannot see it until you publish.
- Switching tabs keeps your changes; the bar at the bottom says when something is not saved yet. Sleeps, bedrooms, bathrooms and amenities are the property’s own details, so saving a place updates the property too.
- Photos are uploaded straight from your phone or computer (JPEG or PNG; large phone photos are resized automatically). HEIC photos from an iPhone work in Safari; elsewhere set the camera to Most Compatible.
- Maps show the town, never the street: the exact address is on the guest’s check-in page after booking.
- With "Ask me first", the guest’s card is charged at once and you have 24 hours to accept; declining refunds in full and frees the dates. After 12 hours without an answer you get a reminder (email, the alert in Rentalhand, and a text to your alert phone if set); at 24 hours the request is declined for you, the guest is refunded in full and the dates reopen on every channel.
- A security deposit keeps the guest’s card on file; you charge it only for damage, up to the deposit, within 14 days of checkout, and the guest gets a receipt with your reason.
- Cancel & refund on a booking refunds the full amount and removes the stay from the calendar. Partial refunds follow your written policy and are done from your Stripe dashboard.
- Unpublishing hides the site immediately; bookings already made are unaffected. See a finished example at rentalhand.com/s/demo.
